Business Analyst as an Organizational Leader

Tuesday, January 11, 2022 -
11:00am to 12:30pm

It has been said that ”by sheer definition of being a business analyst, you are a leader”. In some organizations that is true; in others, it is not. People follow Project Managers, Business Line Managers, Resource Managers, IT Directors because of their title; their authority is inherent to their job title. However, Business Analysts are largely seen as analysts…not leaders.

So how can a business analyst become a leader within the organization? With no inherent authority, will they have to rely on their wit and charm? Will they have to work 90-hour weeks to become the super hero of every change initiative in the organization in order for their co-workers to see their value?

If you don’t want to work 90-hour weeks to prove your value to your organization, and if you want to find ways to make yourself indispensable to your organization; then come learn what organizational leadership for the business analyst looks like. This facilitated discussion will explore the topics of leadership, influence and actions that the newest of business analysts can take to move to a leadership role within their organization.

Key learning objectives:

·      Learn what Leadership is all about
·      Learn about the Influencing Formula
·      Learn how a BA can elevate themselves to an Organizational Leader
